Developing Political Trust in a Developing Country: The Impact of Institutional and Cultural Factors on Political Trust in Ghana
This study investigates why citizens in Ghana trust political institutions. Using the 2013 National Service Scheme Survey, the article compares institutional-performance and cultural explanations and finds that perceptions of government performance are particularly important, while national pride also substantially strengthens institutional trust.
